Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Khan
Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Khan has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at UET Peshawar since 2004. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from UET Peshawar and completed his master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and Urban Infrastructure Engineering from NIUIP, Peshawar. He worked on the “Car Sharing Project in Gothenburg,” initiated by the international RESTOF group. His Ph.D. research focused on the “Development of a Framework for Sustainable Solid Waste Management in Developing Countries.”
Additionally, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed Khan’s research areas include the optimization of municipal solid waste management, keeping in view the local constraints for handling and processing options in developing countries. He has also supervised projects on the reuse of waste materials in construction, the reuse of reclaimed asphalt pavement materials in new roads, the waste-to-energy potential in developing countries, and the design of community-based low-cost water filtration systems.
In addition to serving as a technical member for land-use planning in KPK, he also worked as a member for the “Development of Training Modules for Solid Waste Management for TMAs” in collaboration with GIZ. His research work in the field of land-use planning includes the development of standard criteria for land-use analysis for engineering projects in developing countries.
