Career Development Center
The Career Development Centre (CDC) at UET Peshawar inspires students to become groundbreakers of individual professional careers. CDC provides career guidance, industry linkages, and grooming prospects to students. CDC also inculcates passion in students to grow into competent and prolific individuals not just at a local level but at the world stage. CDC provides resources to students in matters such as interview preparation, job or payment negotiation skills, choice of study program at the postgraduate level, and networking with contemporaries. CDC also facilitates students by offering counseling appointments on an individual basis. In today’s highly competitive world, decent grades are not the sole requirement that employers look for. Expertise in emerging skills and proficiencies is of paramount importance in the prevailing high-tech market. CDC sensitizes students in this regard by organizing and managing events such as training, seminars, workshops, mock exams, and career fairs.

Annual Career Fair
UET Peshawar has hosted Career Fairs in the past to bring students and recruiters under the same roof. The plan is to hold such events on annual basis. Students would get opportunities to grab attractive positions and get introduced to HR personnel of various prominent organizations.

Dr. Tariq Ullah Jan is currently serving as the Director CDC at UET Peshawar. Under his leadership, the CDC team has found dynamic ways to engage students in beneficial career related activities. Students are guided not just during office hours but also round the clock via online communication and social media platforms.
CDC works under a Director who is supported by Career Liaison Officers (CLOs) and Industry Liaison Officers (ILOs) in each department. The CDC team performs various tasks under three distinct functioning bodies.

UET Peshawar has entered a 10-year partnership (2021 to 2031) with Naseeb Online Services (Pvt.) Limited for rozee.pk portal to provide premium services to students and Alumni of UET Peshawar in their quest for career opportunities. Registration can be done by visiting the portal link. As of now, rozee.pk is a division of Naseeb Online Services (Pvt.) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Naseeb Networks Inc. USA.
Each registration request would require approval of the Career Liaison Officer of the respective department of UET Peshawar.

28 May 2024 Keptua Recruitment Drive | ||
Keptua, a smart technology based luxury brand in collaboration with Career Development Center UET Peshawar conducted a recruitment drive at the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, UET Peshawar. The students demonstrated their skills and passion in the written test followed by an interview. The students were evaluated in the areas of CAD, system design, control systems and what if scenarios. Special thanks to Miss. Hala Khan founder of Keptua in identifying the top talent.

18 May 2024 – Female Students Visit of BRT Depot | ||
The Bus Rapid Transport Service (BRT) Peshawar being the largest employer for female Engineers from Peshawar in collaboration with Career Development Center UET Peshawar arranged a visit to the BRT depot for the female students of UET. Students from the departments of Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial and Computer Science were given a detailed presentation on the operations, maintenance workshop and the data management of BRT. Mr. Zahid Ali Shah, the project lead, Mr. Obaid Afridi, the Manager operations and Mr. Ilyas, the incharge workshop and maintenance had a detailed discussion with the students and the future prospects of the project. The students got an in-depth look into the inner workings of one of our city’s vital transportation systems, with hands-on learning at its finest.

4 May 2024 – Lucky Cement Pakistan Recruitment Drive | ||
The Lucky Cement Pakistan, in collaboration with Career Development Centre UET Peshawar, conducted a dynamic recruitment drive where more than 200 graduating students from different departments met with the officials and participated in the written assessment. The Deputy General Manager Mr. Tahir Naseer, alongside an expert team, briefed the students about the remarkable operational achievements of the plant, shedding light on the incredible opportunities that lie ahead.

2 May 2024 – AkzoNobel Recruitment Drive | ||
AkzoNobel, a renowned global paints and coatings company in collaboration with Career Development Center, UET Peshawar conducted a dynamic recruitment drive at the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar. Over 200 students participated in the online test, showcasing their skills and passion. Mr. Farooq Ayub Khan, the Hub Manager for Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan, led the charge along with his exceptional team. They provided a comprehensive presentation shedding light on the incredible internship and graduate trainee programs AkzoNobel has to offer.

23 April 2024 – Career Planning Workshop by Hassan Syed | ||
A one-day workshop, “Career Planning in the Era of AI and Emerging Technologies” was held on 23 April 2024 at UET Peshawar, organized by the Career Development Center in collaboration with ASPIRE Pakistan. The resource person Mr. Hassan Syed, Founder and Chairperson of ASPIRE Pakistan offered insights with a detailed roadmap to a career focusing on the entrepreneurial aspect of Artificial intelligence. and various aspects of emerging technologies that are in demand. These included AI, Blockchain, AR/VR, and digital twin. A large number of students and faculty members attended the workshop. The Advisor Finance, Prof. Dr. Misbah, and Director CDC Dr. Imran Ahmad also attended the workshop.

16 February 2024 – Corporate Leadership: Experience-Based Perspective by Adil Khattak | ||
The Office of Career Development Center (CDC) at UET Peshawar organized a session on “Corporate Leadership: Experience-Based Perspective” for the final year students and faculty at the Video Conference Hall, UET Peshawar 16 February 2024. The speaker for the session was Mr. Adil Khattak, Chief Executive Officer of Attock Refinery Limited. Mr. Adil Khattak has vast experience in engineering, maintenance, human resource management, project management, and marketing. The chief guest for the event was Chairman FF Steel, Senator Nauman Wazir Khan, who shared his experience with the students and faculty.

12 February 2024 – Catalyst Recruitment Drive, Fauji Fertilizer Company | ||
The Office of Career Development Center (CDC) UET Peshawar in collaboration with Fuji Fertilizer Company (FFC) organized “Catalyst Recruitment Drive” at the Main Electrical Hall, UET Peshawar on 12 Feb. 2024. The purpose of the drive was to provide an opportunity to the 8th semester students of Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics and Mechatronics Engineering, UET Peshawar to play online games and win “Fast Pass” to Catalyst Drive stage and get exemption from the NTS test. The FFC team under the leadership of Lt. Col Ahmed Ali Jan Ayub (Retd), Deputy Manager HR guided the students regarding the recruitment process at FFC. The FFC team also selected five students from Chemical, Electrical (Power) and Mechanical Engineering departments for interview to be held at the FFC headquarters.

31 January – 1 February 2024 – Fueling Futures Career Expo 2024, Islamabad | ||
UET Peshawar participated in the first-ever national level “Fueling Futures Career Expo 2024” on 31 January – 1 February 2024 at Pakistan China Friendship Centre, Islamabad. UET team comprised of CDC and students was headed by Prof. Dr. Misbah Ullah, Treasurer, UET Peshawar. The two-day Career Expo has been organized by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) in collaboration with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). The Federal Minister for Energy, Mr. Muhammad Ali inaugurated the Expo, attended by a large number of students, faculty and company representatives. The platform provides an opportunity for students to interact with the leaders of the energy and minerals industry and to learn from their experiences with the view to selecting, pursuing careers in Oil, Gas and Mineral sector.

The Final Year Project Exhibition of the Department of Electronics Engineering UET Peshawar was held on 25th August 2022. The exhibition aimed to showcase the final year projects to the industry and provide opportunities for hiring, internships, and collaboration. Prof Dr. Amjad Ullah Khattak, Dean Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering UET Peshawar welcomed guests from industry and academia to attend the exhibition. He said that these events will provide opportunities for students, faculty members, and industry experts to explore new ventures and solve local problems.

4 July 2022 – Haier Walk-in-test and Interviews | ||
Walk-in-test and interviews by Haier Pakistan, a consumer electronics and home appliances company in Pakistan, were held at University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar on Monday, 4 July 2022 for hiring of mechanical, electrical and mechatronics graduates. The written test was held in the electrical main hall of UET Peshawar at 9 am. On the same day, qualified candidates of the written test were interviewed.

30 June 2022 – Department of Computer Systems Engineering, FYP Exhibition and Placement Fair | ||
Department of Computer Systems Engineering (DCSE) held the Final Year Project Exhibition and Placement Fair on 30 June 2022. The Exhibition was graced by Judges and Guests who took their time to Judge the projects and interact with the students. Placement Fair took place in parallel, companies and HRs from all over KPK were a part of the Fair. Students were encouraged to engage with HR teams for potential opportunities. At the closing ceremony, prizes were distributed to the position holders of the FYP Exhibition, and shields were distributed to the Judges and company representatives.

28 June 2022 – Huawei Orientation “The Future of App Industry” | ||
As part of Huawei Developer Ecosystem, Team Huawei conducted an orientation session on “The Future of App Industry” for the students of UET Peshawar, particularly the Department of Computer Systems Engineering. The session was aimed to create awareness about mobile app development and its uses. The speakers highlighted the dynamics through a detailed orientation followed by question answer session. The worthy speakers highlighted that the future of mobile app development is bright which would not only create jobs, but will also help increase the product sales and revenue. Huawei prizes and gadgets were distributed among students who successfully answered technical and academic questions on the topic. Souvenirs were presented to the honorable guests.

10 June 2022 – Meeting for collaboration on Space Projects | ||
Former Director CDC, Ms. Umama Afridi, visited the CDC office on 10 June 2022. She was welcomed by current director CDC Prof. Dr. Saeed Gul, Dr. Safdar Marwat and CDC International Ambassador (Europe) Engr. Muddasir Khan. During the meeting, collaboration on projects of space technology and opportunities for the students of UET Peshawar in satellite communication and space research were discussed.

A meeting was held in CDC Office on 11 Mar. 2022 regarding the prospects of a Career Fair at UET Peshawar. Representatives of CDC, BRT, TransPeshawar and Daewoo discussed possibilities of attracting employers to the planned event. Industry visits of students and faculty to production and service sites of various enterprises were planned.

7th semester students of Chemical, Electrical and Mechanical engineering attended an event in the video conference hall on 31 Dec. 2021 for the “FFC Talent Hunt Recruitment Drive – Management Trainee Engineers 2022”. Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFCL) is a leading fertilizer manufacturer. The event focused on educating students about induction criteria. Walk-in-interviews of students were also conducted.

26 October 2021 – Agreement with Foster Learning Pakistan | ||
UET Peshawar entered into collaboration with Foster Learning Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Saeed Gul, Director Career Development Center and Hira Javed, Chief Operations Officer, Foster Learning signed Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of senior officials of UET Peshawar. The MoU is aimed to build capacity of the students of UET Peshawar in developing interpersonal and professional skills that can help them in their start-ups and finding opportunities in respective fields.

CLOs and ILOs of different departments from various campuses of UET Peshawar attended the interactive training sessions.

Lucky Cement Limited came to UET Peshawar to hire Trainee Engineers for its Karachi (Nooriabad) and Lakki Marwat (Pezu) plants. It was a chance for our final year students to get opportunity to refine technical knowledge and enrich skills, while getting trained by the qualified field experts. The screening test took place in the Main Hall on Sunday, 11 July 2021 in the presence of Prof. Dr. Saeed Gul (Director CDC) and Dr. Safdar Marwat (CLO DCSE).

29 May 2021 – Webinar # 3: Research based Career by Dr. Mubashir Husain Rehmani | ||
Dr. Mubashir Husain Rehmani from Munster Technological University, Ireland, was invited to hold an online interactive session with our students and graduates on “Research based Career – Planning and Pathway”. Dr. Rehmani was recently ranked among the world’s top 1% researchers by Clarivate Web of Science in Computer Science. The event was broadcasted live on our facebook group and youtube channel. | ||

21 May 2021 – Interviews, Bright Engineering Consultants at UET Peshawar | ||
A list of 60 students was shared with Bright Engineering Consultants for Junior Project Engineers positions. Based on initial technical online scrutiny, 23 students were shortlisted for preliminary interviews held at the Mechanical Engineering Department on 21 May 2021. 5 students were shortlisted for final interviews to be held later in Islamabad (Bright Engineering Consultants headquarter) soon.

Muddassir Khan, Global Solution Specialist at Vodafone Germany, was invited to hold an online interactive session with our students and graduates on “Career Planning – WHY and WHEN to start”. 4 May 2021 – Webinar # 1: Career Essentials by Dr. Faisal Durrani | ||
A webinar on future planning, under the CDC Webinar Series was held online and broadcasted live on our facebook group (part 1, part 2) and youtube channel (part 1, part 2). The speaker, Dr. Faisal is an alumnus of UET Peshawar. He did his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering in 2008, Masters in building services UK, PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics, and currently running a brand in mental health space.

A meeting between CDC team and HR Officer of Al Hayyat Group of Companies took place in CDC office, UET Peshawar. The meeting was about skills development and job opportunities for UET students and fresh graduates.

Students of various departments of UET Peshawar participated in the event of CCI Pakistan for Management Trainee Program 2020 at the Main Hall, UET Peshawar. Participants learnt about the Management Trainee Program and played challenge games for fast-track to assessment centers.

13 Feb. 2019 – Seminar on Higher Education in France at UET Peshawar | ||
The Higher Education Attaché of the French Embassy Islamabad visited UET Peshawar and gave a talk on higher education perspectives in France. Students and teachers interacted with the guest and asked various questions regarding education opportunities in France.
