Dr Farid Ullah Khan is a Professor in the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar. He is serving the nation in teaching, research and development for the last 27 years. This year 2023, for his research contributions, Dr Farid Khan has been named to the prestigious World’s Top 2% Scientists list published by Elsevier. The Top 2% Scientists list is a respected resource for recognizing the most prominent scientists in the world. It is a testimony to the high quality, cutting edge research being performed by Dr Farid and his team.
Prof Dr Farid Ullah Khan is founding director of Sensor and energy harvesting systems research lab, an eminent academic expert and administrator, his field of expertise is energy, green energy, energy harvesting, renewable energy, mechatronic systems and machine health monitoring. From the lab, since creation, he has supervised several PhD, masters and graduate students, who worked on cutting edge research topics and their work is published in reputed high impact journals.
Prof Dr Farid Ullah Khan is the pioneer of the career development center, developed in University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar for bridging the link between the academia and industry. He severed as director, career development center from 2016 to 2020.
Prof Dr Farid Ullah Khan has completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar. He did his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia Vancouver, Canada, in 2011. During his studies he remained the top student and is the recipient of the university Gold Medal.
He has also been awarded for Quaid e Azam Gold Medal on meritorious services in the field of education, research and development by Tehreek-e-Istehkam Foundation Pakistan on 16 Dec, 2023.
