Prof. Dr. Khan Shahzada is a distinguished academician and researcher renowned for his contributions to Structural/Earthquake Engineering and Sustainable Construction Materials. He holds a PhD in Structural Engineering and an MS in Earthquake Engineering from Japan, along with additional experience as a Visiting Scholar at UIUC, USA. His expertise encompasses civil engineering design and the retrofitting of structures, particularly in the areas of natural disasters/blast-resistant structures and the development of novel materials. With a portfolio boasting over 200 research articles, Dr. Shahzada has made significant contributions to his field. He is serving as a geotechnical consultant, specializing in the structural health assessment of existing buildings and non-destructive testing. His skill set includes Building Codes, Seismic Risk Assessment of Buildings, Vulnerability Assessment of Reinforced Concrete Structures, Unreinforced and Confined Masonry Buildings, Hazard Assessment (including SPT and MASW tests), Development of Fragility Curves for various types of buildings, Experimental Investigation (including shake table and quasi-static tests) of different building types, Seismic Capacity Assessment and Retrofitting of existing damaged buildings, and Geopolymer Concrete. Dr. Khan has successfully supervised 4 PhD and 90 MS students, further demonstrating his dedication to advancing the field and mentoring the next generation of engineers.
