Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali
Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership capabilities across diverse academic and administrative roles over a distinguished career spanning three decades.
His groundbreaking accomplishments include the establishment of Pakistan’s first Earthquake Engineering Center, where he served as Project Director. This center became a cornerstone for advancing earthquake research and disaster mitigation under his leadership. Prof. Ali obtained significant government funding in the amount of Rs. 487 million for the center’s expansion and equipping, making it one of the most sophisticated facilities of its kind.
He was also an important contributor to the creation of the Pakistan Building Code-Seismic Provisions 2007. His knowledge and insights were instrumental in updating the Building Code of Pakistan 2021, demonstrating his dedication to ensuring the safety and resilience of structures in the country.
Prof. Ali’s adept project management skills are demonstrated by his successful oversight of several major research projects focusing on seismic performance and structural engineering. These projects, which he successfully managed, included team coordination, securing critical funding, and ensuring project goals were met on time.
Prof. Ali’s leadership also includes over 100 consultancy projects in which he directed efforts to provide invaluable technical support and guidance to both national and international organizations.
As Dean of Civil, Agricultural, and Mining Engineering, and later as Pro Vice Chancellor, he was instrumental in shaping the vision and direction of the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar.
He has advocated for innovation, collaboration, and excellence throughout his career. Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali’s leadership in academia and research has had a significant impact on engineering and higher education in Pakistan.
