UET Peshawar Observes Kashmir Siege Day

Peshawar, August 5: UET Peshawar commemorated Kashmir Siege Day today with a ceremony aimed at reaffirming the unwavering support of the Pakistani nation for their Kashmiri brethren.

Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sadiq Khattak reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to the cause of Kashmir and expressed strong solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that Kashmir is an integral part of Pakistan and will remain so. He also noted that universities across Pakistan including UET Peshawar,  are offering scholarships to Kashmiri students as a gesture of brotherhood and support.

Registrar Prof. Dr. Khizar Azam highlighted the strategic importance of Kashmir for Pakistan beyond its geographical location. He stated that the revocation of Articles 370 and 35 A in Indian constitutions by the Modi-led Indian government does not affect Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, nor its resolve to continue supporting the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

President of the Engineering University Employees Assoy, Mr. Arbab Khusro, and Mr. Alamzeb, Security In-Charge, also shared their views, emphasizing the national unity and determination in supporting the Kashmir cause.

Earlier, Hammad Ali while representing the students of UET Peshawar delivered a comprehensive presentation on the background of the Kashmir conflict and shared insightful recommendations for its peaceful resolution through dialogue and adherence to the UN resolutions.

The speakers collectively highlighted that the four wars fought between Pakistan and India reflect the unshakable commitment of every Pakistani to the cause of Kashmir.
