Dr. Ubaid
Dr. Ubaid, Ph.D., serves as a Lecturer, Postgraduate Advisor, and Head of the Space Syntax Research Laboratory within the Department of Architecture at UET Abbottabad. Having completed his doctoral studies in Architecture (Major: Architectural History Theory and Criticism) at Hanyang University, South Korea, in 2017, his specialization lies in Healthcare Architecture and Space Syntax. Since 2020, Dr. Ubaid is the only expert in space Syntax in Pakistan and has been actively engaged in sharing his expertise of Space Syntax through lectures and workshops at various architecture schools, including UMT Lahore, Comsats Islamabad, UET Lahore, Beaconhouse National University, National College of Arts Lahore, and the Institute of Architects Pakistan. With a primary research focus on Healthcare Architecture and space syntax, Dr. Ubaid brings extensive experience, having spent four years as a researcher in Hanyang University’s healthcare architecture laboratory. He is a distinguished member of the Korea Institute of Healthcare Architecture (KIHA) and has contributed significantly to both national and international journals with his research in healthcare architecture and space syntax. His academic contributions extend beyond research, as evidenced by his successful supervision of eleven master’s and one Ph.D. theses, with six masters and two Ph.D. students currently under his guidance. Dr. Ubaid’s involvement in academia further includes serving on various architecture department boards of studies and acting as a reviewer for esteemed national and international journals. In addition to his academic endeavors, Dr. Ubaid plays a crucial role as a consultant and advisor for healthcare projects funded by organizations such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and Korea Exchange Bank. Through his multifaceted roles, Dr. Ubaid continues to make significant contributions to the field of architecture, particularly in healthcare design and spatial configurations.
