The Directorate of Postgraduate Studies (DPGS) deals with admissions of postgraduate students in coordination with the Directorate of Admissions. The Directorate also looks after the processing of postgraduate programs and enforcement of regulations approved by the Academic Council and Syndicate.

The Master’s degree programs at the University of Engineering and Technology shall extend over a period of at least three semesters. A Master/MPhil degree is offered in both research-based and course-based formats, requiring a total of 30 credit hours. For a research-based degree, these 30 credit hours include 24 credit hours of coursework and 6 credit hours of research, except for the master’s degree in Architecture, which requires 40 credit hours as per policy. A PhD degree requires at least a total of 54 credit hours with a minimum of 18 credit hours coursework and 36 credit hours research work.
