Dr. Haider Ali is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department with a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering from UET, Peshawar, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA and a PhD from University of Sheffield, UK.
Dr. Haider’s research is in the area of Additive Manufacturing and specializes in metals process and materials development. He has worked with a number of AM technologies such as Selective Laser Melting (SLM), Diode Area Melting (DAM) and Layered Extrusion of Metallic Alloys, processing various copper, aluminum, steel and titanium alloys for aerospace, automotive and medical industries.
He has worked closely with industry users of AM to understand limitations of the technology in a manufacturing environment and commercialization of new materials.
