Dr. Irshad Ali
Dr. Irshad Ali received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in March 2013. After the completion of his PhD, he worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow in Prof. Sasha Omanovic Laboratory in Department of Chemical Engineering, McGill University from March 2013 to March 2014. Then, he joined M’Plast Inc. Lachine, QC as a Process and R&D Engineer till December 2014. In December 2014, he was awarded the prestigious Mitacs-Accelerate Post-doctoral Fellowship for his achievements in the field of Chemical Engineering. During post-doctoral fellowship, he worked on “Removal of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Ozone (O3) from Gas Emissions” under the supervision of Prof. Pierre-Luc Girard-Lauriault. After completion of Mitacs-Accelerate Post-doctoral Fellowship, he joined Ingenuity Laboratory, Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Alberta in May 2016. He worked in the Ingenuity Laboratory till March 2017 on the “artificial photosynthesis” project under the supervision of world renowned scientist Prof. Carlo Montemagno. Currently, he is working as Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan.
The area of Dr. Ali research interest is Chemical Engineering and Electrochemistry with special focus on Energy, Electrocatalysis, Corrosion and Advanced Catalytic Nano-materials. Dr. Ali has published numerous articles in high impact-factor peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented his research work in a number of international conferences. In addition, Dr. Ali has filed a US Provisional Patent titled “Electrochemical Conversion”, US Provisional patent application, #62015832, July 2014.
