Dr. Khurshid Ahmad joined UET Peshawar as Assistant Professor in January 2016. He has diverse background of working in Academia as well as Industry. In academia, he had the privilege of working in leading international universities such as the University of Leeds UK, University of California Merced, USA, Arizona State University, USA and Harbin Institute of Technology China. At the US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCASE), he was responsible for the initiation of the Master in Thermal System Engineering Program. He led the curriculum design and development, establishment of laboratories, outreach campaigns as well as student’s enrollment processes. He is Fulbright Alumnus, having active collaborations with researchers in areas of mutual interest both nationally and internationally. He has been actively participating in various international exchange programs. The interactions with international faculty members and colleagues have helped him in learning new ways of providing better learning environment to students. He teaches core Mechanical Engineering courses at the US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy as well as Department of Mechanical Engineering. So far he has taught 06 postgraduate 06 undergraduate courses.
Dr Khurshid is actively participating in community service and outreach activities. Currently, he is Professional Member (PE) of Pakistan Engineering Council, Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA) UK, and Associate Member of the Energy Institute (AMEI) UK. He also remained member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (MASME), American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineers (MASHRAE) and Materials Research Society (MMRS). Besides, he acquired Certifications on People Management, Higher Education Leadership, Higher Education Teaching and Research Project Management from World’s leading Universities. He has been sharing the knowledge gained through volunteering for training workshops on Leadership and Career Counseling. He has been reviewing scholarly articles for leading journals as well as grants applications for various funding agencies. He has a strong progressive background in the areas of Energy Efficiency and Surface and Interface Analysis. This experience has been demonstrated through publications in well reputed scientific journals and conferences.
