Dr. Muhammad Fahad
Dr. Muhammad Fahad holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the State University of New York, USA, with a specialization in Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering. A key contributor to global seismic safety standards, Dr. Muhammad Fahad played a pivotal role in the development of the 2015 revision of the IEEE 693 Standard. This internationally recognized standard governs the seismic qualification testing of high-voltage electrical equipment, and is widely adopted around the world.
With over a decade of academic experience, Dr. Muhammad Fahad has taught a range of graduate and undergraduate courses including Structural Dynamics, Earthquake Engineering, A-Seismic Base Isolation , Non-Linear Structural Analysis, Advanced Engineering Mathematics, and Stochastic & Random Vibrations. He has supervised more than 12 MSc students and one Ph.D. candidate.
Beyond academia, Dr. Muhammad Fahad has been actively engaged in the civil engineering industry in Pakistan, offering consultancy and training to both government and non-government organizations. He served as Project Coordinator for the multi-million-dollar FATA Infrastructure Project funded by US-AiD through the University of Engineering & Technology, overseeing critical reconstruction efforts in the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dr. Muhammad Fahad has also led initiatives in modernizing civil engineering practices in Pakistan, particularly in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and drone-based mapping technologies. His training programs have equipped national consulting firms with capabilities in photogrammetry and LiDAR-based data collection and analysis, significantly enhancing their project assessment and monitoring capabilities.
