Dr. Sajjad Wali Khan

Associate Professor

Dr. Sajjad Wali Khan received his PhD in Structural Engineering from Loughborough University, UK, October 2013, defending a thesis on cable mechanics. With over sixteen years of teaching, research and field experience, Dr. Khan is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Jalozai Campus of UET Peshawar, where he also serves as Chairman.
Dr. Khan’s research is industry-focused, with expertise in the structural characteristics of helically wound steel cables, design, repair and upgrading of reinforced concrete structures, fibre-reinforced concrete (with a particular focus on Engineered Cementitious Composites, ECC) and energy efficient & climate resilient structures/materials. His scholarly contributions include more than thirty international journal publications related to materials and structural engineering.
Dr. Khan is committed to a student-centred approach, promoting high levels of student engagement and ensuring students are well-equipped to achieve their academic goals and prepare for their future careers. He has successfully supervised one PhD and thirteen MSc students in their research and currently mentors five PhD students on various topics related to structural engineering. Additionally, he serves on the Research Evaluation & Monitoring Committees (RECs, RMCs) for PhD students at multiple universities across Pakistan.
