Dr. Sheraz Ali Khan

Assistant Professor

Dr. Sheraz Ali Khan is a distinguished scholar with a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Ulsan, South Korea, which he completed in 2018. His doctoral research, which earned recognition and publication in esteemed journals such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and Reliability Engineering and System Safety, focused on data-driven fault diagnosis in industrial machinery, health prognosis, and the estimation of remaining useful life. His research endeavors also extended to practical applications, as he participated in numerous projects on leakage detection in process industries. Currently, he is also serving as a Co-PI in the Advanced Robotics and Automation Lab (ARAL), which is part of the National Center for Robotics and Automation (NCRA).

Prior to his PhD, Dr. Khan earned a Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (PIEAS) in 2007. PIEAS is consistently ranked as Pakistan’s premier engineering education institution by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar in 2004, where he was part of the inaugural graduating class of the program.

Dr. Khan’s academic journey is marked by several prestigious awards and scholarships. He was awarded merit scholarships by FBISE Islamabad and BISE Peshawar for his outstanding performance in his secondary and higher secondary examinations, respectively. He as awarded the PAEC fellowship for his Masters in Nuclear Engineering at Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He was awarded the BK-21 Plus scholarship by the National Research Foundation of South Korea and the AF-1 scholarship by the University of Ulsan for his PhD studies. Dr. Khan’s exceptional contributions during his PhD were recognized with the BK-21 Plus Best Paper Award for the year 2017.

In addition to his research and academic pursuits, Dr. Khan is an active reviewer for several peer-reviewed research journals, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in his field. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys sports, reading, and traveling with his children. Dr. Khan also has a keen interest in human nutrition, which he explores whenever time allows.
