Haseen Ullah Jan

Lecturer

Dr. Haseen Ullah Jan has completed his PhD in Physics from the University of Peshawar, with a research focus on computational analysis of the structural, electronic, and optical properties of complex oxide materials (ABMnO₃) using Density Functional Theory (DFT), and their applications in photovoltaic devices. His doctoral work contributes to the development of advanced functional materials for renewable energy technologies.

Prior to his PhD, Dr. Jan earned his Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Physics from the Quaid-i-Azam University, where his research focused on the DFT-based investigation of the hardness of steel. He also holds an MSc in Physics from the same institution and is a proud QAU alumnus.

Dr. Jan has been serving as a faculty member at the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar since August 2016. In addition to his academic responsibilities, he has research experience as a Research Fellow at the New Technologies Research Center, University of West Bohemia, where he worked on the design of efficient dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) materials for water splitting and hydrogen production.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Jan served as a visiting/engaged lecturer at several higher education institutions, including the Federal Urdu University of Arts Science and Technology, Riphah International University, and the International Islamic University Islamabad.

With a strong foundation in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and a growing interest in integrating state-of-the-art deep learning and computational techniques into scientific research and teaching, Dr. Jan is committed to mentoring students and producing creative, skilled scientists and engineers for the betterment of the community, society, and humanity.
