Prof. Dr. Bashir Alam
Dr. Bashir Alam graduated from UET Peshawar and earned his PhD in Civil Engineering from George Washington University, USA. He has 33 years of national and international experience, including teaching, research, and consultancy. He is currently working as a Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at UET Peshawar. He has also served as a faculty member and consultant in the USA, as well as Director of Planning and Development and Chairman of the Civil Engineering Department at UET Peshawar. He has published more than 70 papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has worked on more than 90 national and international civil engineering projects. His area of specialization is structural engineering, with a particular focus on the optimal structural design of new buildings and bridges, and the repair, rehabilitation, and retrofitting of existing reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, steel, and wood structures. He is currently serving as Dean of the Faculty of Civil, Agricultural, and Mining Engineering.
