Prof. Dr. Sayed Riaz Akbar
Dr. Sayed Riaz Akbar is a distinguished academician and researcher known for his contributions to the field of vehicle safety and intelligent traffic safety systems.
He has a Master’s degree from Wichita State University (USA) major in Industrial Engineering and a Ph.D. degree from George Washington University (USA) major in Transportation Safety.
He has been a Research Scientist and Professor teaching and conducting research at The George Washington University (USA), and University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar (Pakistan). Dr Sayed is the founding Director of The Institute of Mechatronics Engineering and currently a full professor at University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar.
Dr. Sayed’s research focuses on pre-crash safety of highway transport including vehicles, driver and environment. His main focus is on driver fatigue/drowsiness detection and countermeasures. His work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, showcasing his expertise and innovative approaches to vehicle safety issues.
