Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali is a George Housner Fellow selected by GFDRR World Bank and EERI. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from UET Peshawar with specialization in Bridge/Earthquake Engineering. He has expertise in structural non-destructive evaluation & testing, seismic qualification testing, and structural health monitoring. Dr. Ali served as Director of the largest Earthquake Engineering Center for about 10 years. Besides regular teaching and research, he is active at the national level in the development of codes and serves as a member of various technical committees advising the government on resilient infrastructure planning, climate change-based inclusive development, disaster governance, and policy formulation. Dr. Ali has provided highly specialized consulting services to industry, including hydropower and CPEC projects such as Lahore Orange Line Metro Train and ML-1.
